The Rohingya people, an ethnic and religious minority in Burma, have faced decades of persecution, human rights violations and genocide. Seven years ago, the Burmese military unleashed a horrific campaign of violence that killed thousands of people and forced 700,000 more to flee to Bangladesh for their lives.
Today, the Rohingya people in Bangladesh live in makeshift camps without access to proper nutrition, education or health care. The Rohingya people still living in Burma suffer a similar situation under control of the Burmese military. That’s why we must act. Urge your member of Congress to support the Rohingya Genocide, Accountability, and Protection (GAP) Act, which creates a comprehensive approach to humanitarian aid, justice and accountability for the Rohingya people.
