Leader Jeffries: Please Protect Reproductive Rights

Join us to congratulate Representative Hakeem Jeffries on becoming House Minority Leader in the 118th Congress, and ask him to galvanize his Congressional colleagues to take actions that advance reproductive rights, protect women, girls and LGBTQI+ people around the world, and ensure access to safe abortions.

One of President Biden’s first acts in office was to rescind the global gag rule, a draconian policy that restricted U.S. global health assistance to organizations that offered critical reproductive health care if they also provided information, referrals or abortion services — even with their own funds. This is significant progress, but we can’t stop there. We urge Leader Jeffries to build a movement in Congress to permanently end the global gag rule and repeal the dangerous Helms Amendment, another restrictive policy that prevents U.S. foreign assistance from funding abortion services around the world.
